Ride from our doorstep onto
wonderful open hills in an area offering excellent riding
in peaceful and remote country.
Whether you are interested in long-distance trail riding,
endurance riding or simply exploring the beautiful
countryside with your own horse, the Brandy House is the
perfect choice for both human and equine guests.
Medina
rides the area and we are happy to help you plan your
riding. An ever-growing collection of routes awaits you
with miles of off-road riding. It can be wild but is not
rugged. We have two bridle-paths passing through our
holding that take you up onto Beacon Hill, a 5000 acre
wild moorland Crown Estate. You can ride to the trig
point on the top which is at a height of 1796 ft (547m).
The tracks tend to be good and offer lots of
opportunities for long canters and gallops across
flat-topped hills, though it is hilly and there are some
steep routes. You do need to feel comfortable with a map
and a compass, as many of the routes are not way-marked
and you may very well ride all day without meeting anyone
else!
We offer
human guests 4 star accommodation in either B&B or
self-catering, and their horses grazing in their own
paddock (overlooked by our self-catering cottage) or
stabling in one of our six stables. Our paddocks are
each about an acre of 'clean' grass,
containing a water supply and shelter beneath trees, and
fenced with a mixture of railing, wired netting, and
tree-lined hedges. Our stables (four 12 x 12 and two 10 x
12) are all together within a light and airy steel frame
barn. Guests use stables on a DIY basis and we provide a
shavings bed.

There are several
horse-friendly pubs which make an ideal lunch stop on a
day's ride, or we can prepare you a packed lunch if you
want to picnic. After a day in the saddle you are assured
of a warm welcome; settle your horses then relax in a hot
shower before heading to the local pub for an evening
meal.

Stabling

Bed and Breakfast per person per night from
